Then, call us & we'll set up your account within 30 minutes of receiving your order!

How do I know how many tests I need?

Let's say you have 5 candidates that you want to test on MS Word 2000 and Excel 2000.  You will need 2 tests for 5 candidates which is a total of 10 tests.  You will need to purchase 10 tests.

OR - if you are unsure of how many candidates you'll need to test, sign up for our Subscription Account and you can order the tests as needed.  No need to pre-purchase anything!

What if I'm not sure how many candidates I will need to test - I have 2 candidates now -but may need to test a few more?

Total Testing Subscription Account is perfect for clients who want to pay-as-they-go.  Use as many or as little tests as you need.  At the end of the month we'll tally up the tests completed - that's all you pay for!

How long do I have to use the tests that I just purchased?

The test amounts can be used at anytime and do not expire . Organizations that wish to purchase in larger volumes will receive reduced pricing and since there is no time frame to use the online testing - you'll save now and can use later!

How is the testing priced?

Pricing is on a per test basis.  You can reduce the per test cost by ordering a block of tests. Call us for pricing.

Do I have to learn how to use your testing program?

Yes - The online testing account is very user friendly - login, choose the test you want your candidate to take and click on begin or enter their email address to have the candidate test remotely.

How does the candidate access the test?

If the candidate is testing from home, you will need to login to your testing account and select the tests you want them to take.  Then enter their email address & click on send.  The system will immediately send them an email with a hotlink.  The candidate simply clicks on the hotlink to begin testing.

OR

If the candidate is testing in your office, you simply login and select the tests.  Then click on Begin - the candidate can start testing immediately.

How do I get the test scores?

Upon completion of each test our system automatically scores the test & immediate emails the score report to you. The candidate does not see any results.

What is the minimum amount of tests we can purchase?

We sell as little as one test up to hundreds of tests.  No company is too small or too large to use our online testing.  There is no minimum purchase required!

The Answers

  1. What hardware do I need to run Internet testing?

Total Testing supports all recent versions of Microsoft Windows (98/ME/NT/2000/XP), as well as certain configurations of Mac OS 9 and OS X.

  2. What software do I need to run Internet testing?

All you need is a compatible Web browser; Total Testing recommends Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later. Internet Explorer versions 4.0 and above as well, as recent Mozilla and Opera builds, are also supported.

Total Testing also recommends the following browser settings:

    • Both Java and Javascript enabled.

    • Pop-up windows should not be disabled.

    • Page caching should be turned off completely. Choose Tools/Internet Options/Settings... and select the "Every visit to the page" option.

    • JIT compiler turned off

An ICA browser plug-in will be installed when you first connect to our Internet testing. On Windows NT, 2000, and XP, you will need to have program install rights (ADMIN Rights) to allow installation of this plug-in.

Please contact us for information on which Mac OS and browser combinations are supported.

  3. What are the connection and bandwidth requirements for Total Testing's Internet testing?

You need to be able to open a standard http Web connection (TCP/IP port 80) to our servers. You also need to be able to connect using standard 128-bit SSL (TCP/IP port 443) to our servers.

These are the minimum and recommended bandwidth requirements for Online Testing:

    • Standard Tests: The minimum recommended bandwidth to run non-audio tests is a dedicated 56 kbps client-side connection per workstation. At this speed, tests will have delays at test start and end but generally will give acceptable, although slow performance during the test.

    • Audio-enabled Tests: The minimum recommended bandwidth to run audio tests is a dedicated 128 kbps client-side , high-quality, low-latency connection per workstation.

  4. Can I run Total Testing's Internet testing from behind a firewall? What about a proxy server?

If your system is able to make standard http (TCP/IP port 80) and SSL/https (TCP/IP port 443) connections to external servers, then you should be able to run Total Testing Online Testing.

  5. Can we run our own copy of Total Testing's Internet system over an intranet or other LAN, WAN or VPN?

Total Testing's network testing software is available for deployment over LANs and WANs. The Total Testing Internet system is Internet-based and can be accessed via browsers within your organization's network, but you cannot install your own copy of Total Testing's Internet product on your internal network. If you have further questions about Total Testing's software and Internet testing solutions, please contact us.
