Answers:

  1. If the system check failed, try going in through Active X: Please run the following link and select the Active-x button. http://config.skillcheck.com/onlinetesting/browsersetup.html  Then, try running your test again and download the Online Testing plug-in when prompted to do so.

  2. If your system doesn't recognize that Java has been downloaded.  Try to manually download Java.  If that still doesn't work you can try the Active X option.  Please run the following link, and select the Active-x button. http://config.skillcheck.com/onlinetesting/browsersetup.html  Try running your test again and download the Online Testing plug-in when prompted to do so.

  3. A black screen can indicate that your system does not have ADMIN rights.  You can adjust your rights to have ADMIN rights or try going in through Active X:  Please run the following link, and select the Active-x button. http://config.skillcheck.com/onlinetesting/browsersetup.html  Try running your test again and download the Online Testing plug-in when prompted to do so.

  4. If you cannot see the TotalTesting Website, you have Anti-Virus that is blocking our page.  You can temporarily disable your Anti-Virus or go through our sister website: http://www.fadvassessments.com/login.html

  5. No ICA Browser is a company firewall that is blocking you.  Most of the time you can get through with the Active X option.  Please run the following link, and select the Active-x button. http://config.skillcheck.com/onlinetesting/browsersetup.html  Try running your test again and download the Online Testing plug-in when prompted to do so.    If it still does not work, you'll need your IT dept to adjust the Proxy Settings as follows:

Your Firewall / Proxy Server will need the following ports open:

    http (port 80) and https (port 443) traffic: 66.150.197.5  -  66.150.197.29

If you only want to allow specific IP addresses, these are the specific addresses currently required.

This is for http (port 80) and https (port 443) traffic:
    66.150.197.5
    66.150.197.11
    66.150.197.16
    66.150.197.20

  6. If the test won't allow you to enter anything, you most likely have Pop-Up blockers on.  Please disable this & try the test again.

  7. This is a known problem with Java and Internet Explorer.  You can either download the Firefox browser (www.firefox.com) or try the Active X Link: Please run the following link, and select the Active-x button. http://config.skillcheck.com/onlinetesting/browsersetup.html  Try running your test again and download the Online Testing plug-in when prompted to do so.   If you still experience a problem, please contact us & we will set up a different version of the test.

  8. If the test locked up, please close all the test windows & log back in.  The test will pick up where it left off.

    2.       Left click on the 'Properties' option

    3.       Click on the 'Settings' tab

Minimum Hardware Requirements for Interactive Tests

The requirements for interactive tests (such as Microsoft Word 2000, Data Entry, Typing or Call Center Listening Skills) are slightly higher than the requirements for multiple choice tests. If your system does not meet the requirements below, you may experience loss of data or graphics.  Minimum hardware requirements include:

Minimum: 56.6k Dial-up connection or faster
Recommended: Digital Internet Connection (DSL, Cable Modem, T1 or T3)

2.       Browser Requirements
Microsoft Internet Explorer: version 5.0 or higher

America Online: AOL's browser is not supported. You may connect to the Internet with AOL,
but then you must minimize AOL's browser and use Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.
Important Note Regarding Pop-Up Blockers: Certain pop-up blockers prohibit the launching
of online testing. If you have Pop-Up Blocking software, please locate the software and
        disable your pop-up blocker.

3.       CPU
    PC:
        Minimum:
Pentium 166 MHz or faster
Recommended: Pentium III class (~500 MHz) or faster
Mac: Interactive tests are only supported on Microsoft Windows-capable machines

4.       RAM

    Recommended: 256 MB or more

5.       Operating System
Microsoft Windows 98, NT 4.0 or higher
      * Interactive tests are only supported on Microsoft Windows-capable machines *

Optimize Your Browser

Not all browsers work optimally with our site, and even the most advanced browsers may require some fine-tuning to optimize the displays for your computer. If you have any problems, please consult your browser's help file or contact us.

It is crucial that you have all of the following components enabled within your browser:

Ø      Cookies

Ø      All aspects of Java, to include scripting and applets

Ø      Browsing in a new process

Ø       HTTP 1.1

You may also choose to temporarily disable script debugging before you begin your test. To modify or enable these options, please go to "Tools - Internet Options" if you are using Internet Explorer. For help on what these settings do, or for more help on how to change them, please view the help file for your browser.

You can download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

                    Disconnects & Service Disruptions

If you experience a disruption of your Internet service while you are testing, you should be able to re-enter the test you started. If you have begun a test, but not completed or scored it, you should still be able to have the test scored. Once you re-establish your connection to the Internet, reconnect to www.totaltesting.com/login  and enter your eticket.  You should be able continue the test at the point at which you lost connection without any loss of data or progress. However, due to the nature of some tests whose questions must be answered in one sitting and in a sequential order (such as Typing or Data Entry tests) you may have to begin your test again from the first question.

                   Internet Speed

Depending on the time of day and the capability of your Internet Service Provider, you may experience delays in testing. If possible, avoid taking tests during periods of heaviest Internet usage, usually late afternoon and early evening.

The quality and speed of your computer system and Internet connection will also affect the length of time it takes for each test question to load. If your test seems frozen between questions, please wait for at least thirty seconds before attempting to close the test. Also, you may wish to "Refresh" or "Reload" the test question page by using your browser's keyboard shortcut. This should advance you to the next question.
